What is PODD?

PODD stands for Pragmatic, Organization Dynamic Display. It is a comprehensive language system, normally a book or a device used to support robust language development for children with complex communication needs.

What is an Aided Language Display? (ALD)

An ALD is a static symbol display that allows modelling of language in a specific activity. It focuses on relevant vocabulary for a specific activity.

What is a speech generating device?

A speech generating device is a specialized device or a computer or ipad that speaks words when a symbol or word is typed. They can be accessed via direct touch or using switches or via eye gaze.
